Kyogle H Hardware Building & Plumbing Supplies was established in 1994. The stores owners, Graeme & Wendy Johnston, are Kyogle locals, having lived in the area for over 27 years whilst raising their family and running the business. The business is family operated, with both Wendy, Graeme and their son Martin, performing central roles in the day to day operations of the business. Graeme and Martin have extensive experience and knowledge of the building industry, providing customers with trade specific product advice and information, whilst Wendy is the stores resident paint advisor, with comprehensive knowledge of paint and wood care products. The business employs five other staff with a broad range of hardware experience, creating a team that can provide sound solutions for just about any customer need.
We offer convenient undercover drive through lanes for customer comfort whilst loading their vehicles.
Kyogle H Hardware is a member of Australia's Hardware & Building Traders Buying Group. A group with membership of 691 stores. This provides access at great pricing from 493 of Australia's major wholesalers.
HISTORY
In 1994 Graeme & Wendy Johnston purchased Kyogle's Alternative Building Market. At that time our premises was on 2 acres of land and consisted of a new industrial shed of around 500 square meters. The business at that time focussed on the sale of timber products, specialising in hardwood flooring, decking and claddings. We regularly had builders from Tweed Heads to Yamba sourcing their flooring and decking from Kyogle, we even supplied hardwood VJ linings to a development at Lord Howe Island.
The aim however was always to provide Kyogle with a complete trade focussed hardware store. Something Kyogle did not have, with a lot of sales being lost to other towns.
In 1999 we changed our trading name to Kyogle Building Supplies, a name which now more accurately reflected what we had to offer. At this time we had grown to carry pine framing, timber mouldings, fibre cement sheet lines, and a basic offering of hardware. The floor of our premises had been concreted in the first year and by this time we had completed several building additions to provide more room to have an expanding product range.
Our business has continued to grow in both customers and product range ever since. Kyogle H Hardware always focuses on customer service which has established long standing customer relationships with clients from different industries including builders, plumbers, electricians, painters and other local businesses, as well as home renovators and DIY customers. The business also provides delivery of products to Kyogle and surrounding areas such as Casino, Lismore, and to the coast
Kyogle H Hardware is also recognised for its contributions to the local Kyogle community, through its support of local sporting teams, schools, community events and charity fund raising.
As a member of the Hardware & Building Traders Group we rebadged to Kyogle H Hardware effective January 2017. The many additions & facelifts our building has undergone now gives us a floor area of 1350 square meters to house all of our stock.
